Last night my husband and I and a friend of ours found ourselves in Brooklyn near Bordeaux – Steak & Wine House. We called around 6:45 and asked if we could arrive about 15 minutes later. When we got there, the restaurant was not busy; but filled up within the hour. They showed us to a table we didn’t love and then very graciously moved us to the booth we requested. Our waiter’s name was Adonis and he couldn’t have been more helpful and accommodating. Our apps were: Carrot-Ginger Soup, Vietnamese Salad and sliced fresh tuna. The soup was a bright orange and deliciously carroty with a zing from the fresh ginger. My salad was huge-enough for a main course. The lettuce and vegetables were crisp and fresh and the sliced meat was outstanding. I had the burger on a pretzel bun. It was one of the best burgers I’ve had- light, juicy and delicious. The steak fries were out of this world. My husband had a Ribeye which was perfectly prepared with a whole roasted garlic and 3 sauces to enjoy with it. Our friend had sliders which she enjoyed as well. Shai, one of the owners, had come over to talk to us and then sent us a dessert gift of deconstructed smores. It was spectacular. The bottle of Binyamina Merlot was well priced and very good; as was the bread and aioli served with it. Yes, this dinner was expensive; but the food was excellent as was the service. They crumbed the table after each course and replaced flatware as needed without having to be asked. No, I didn’t take pictures because I needed to relax; and I’m happy to report that Bordeaux – Steak & Wine House was the perfect venue to relax in a beautiful environment and eat first rate food.
